ATTORNEY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is ICELAW?

ICELAW is a legal-technology platform designed to connect vetted immigration attorneys with individuals actively seeking lawful immigration representation. We function as a qualified intake and matching service, not a law firm and not a lead marketplace.

How does ICELAW support my practice?

ICELAW acts as a front-end intake layer for your practice. We collect initial case information, screen for basic eligibility and jurisdiction, and route qualified inquiries directly to you—reducing administrative workload and client acquisition overhead.

How are cases delivered to attorneys?

Attorneys receive case information in one of two secure ways:

  • Direct phone outreach from ICELAW with relevant case details, or

  • Encrypted delivery of intake information to the attorney’s designated email address

You choose your preferred communication method during onboarding.

What information is included in the intake?

Intake information typically includes:

  • Client contact information
  • Current location and intended jurisdiction
  • Immigration status and goals
  • Case category (e.g., family-based, asylum, employment, adjustment, etc.)

ICELAW does not provide legal advice and does not evaluate legal merit beyond intake-level screening.

Does ICELAW replace my intake staff?

No—but it significantly reduces intake burden. ICELAW handles the initial contact and information gathering so your firm can focus on legal analysis, strategy, and representation rather than screening cold inquiries.

How many attorneys are listed in each area?

Attorney participation is strictly limited by population and demand.

  • Each city or region is capped at a maximum of twelve (12) attorneys
  • Smaller markets may have fewer
  • Enrollment is closed once a region reaches capacity

This ensures fair distribution of cases and protects attorney value.

Is there any pay-per-lead or bidding model?

No. ICELAW does not operate on:

  • Pay-per-lead pricing
  • Auction or bidding systems
  • Referral fees tied to case outcomes

Attorneys pay a flat annual membership fee of $999.99, providing predictable costs and transparent participation.

Are attorneys required to accept every referral?

No. Attorneys retain full discretion to:

  • Accept or decline any inquiry
  • Set their own engagement terms
  • Conduct independent consultations

ICELAW does not interfere with attorney-client relationships.

How does ICELAW vet attorneys?

All attorneys must:

  • Hold active licensure in good standing
  • Practice immigration law
  • Pass a credential and compliance review

ICELAW reserves the right to deny or remove attorneys who do not meet professional standards.

Is ICELAW compliant with legal ethics rules?

ICELAW is designed to align with professional responsibility standards by:

  • Avoiding fee-splitting
  • Avoiding outcome-based compensation
  • Maintaining attorney independence
  • Acting strictly as a technology and intake service

Attorneys are responsible for ensuring participation complies with their jurisdiction’s ethical requirements.

Where is ICELAW available?

ICELAW operates through:

  • Web platform
  • iOS app (Apple App Store)
  • Android app (Google Play)

This provides attorneys with exposure to clients both domestically and internationally.

How do I join the ICELAW attorney network?

Enrollment is subject to availability by region and completion of the vetting process. Once approved, attorneys receive onboarding instructions, intake preferences, and platform access.
